My name is Tyson Mowarin, but musically I go by Cherratta Road — a name that carries my heart, my history, and my home.

I'm a proud Aboriginal man from the Pilbara in Western Australia — a musician, photographer, filmmaker, traveller, car lover, and single dad. Music has been part of my journey since I was a teenager growing up in Broome, surrounded by legends like Jimmy Chi, Steve Pigram, Scrap Metal, and Yothu Yindi. That era shaped me, lit the fire, and sent me on this lifelong creative path.

I studied music at Abmusic in Perth, learning drums and playing alongside some of the country’s best Indigenous artists. Over the years, I’ve been part of bands like Blackstone Ramblers, The Murru Band, and The Freedom Band, performing everywhere from the Pilbara to Sydney, Nannup to Hobart’s Dark Mofo. I’ve contributed to albums like Murru, Songs of Freedom, and VAST — sharing stories through songs about Country, culture, love, loss, and identity.

Now, I’m stepping into a new chapter with Cherratta Road — the name of the old dirt track that runs from Roebourne to Weymul Community, where my mother and other loved ones now rest. It’s a road that connects the past with the future. My music is dedicated to them — to my mum and dad, who supported this dream since I was 16, and to everyone who's ever stood at a crossroads and found their way back home.

These songs come from my soul — written over five years through reflection, growth, and a global pandemic. They tell our stories in a modern voice, grounded in Country and truth.

Cherratta Road is more than just music. It’s the track that carries memory, family, and the sounds of where I’m from.

Wandering Whilst Im Wondering Is the name of my Debut Album. My name is Tyson Mowarin and Im a Ngarluma/Banjima Man from Roebourne in the Pilbara of Western Australia. This album is the first half of a collection of 22 works I wrote over the past 20 or so years and recorded over the past 5 years. These 11 tracks are tracks close to my heart as Embrace was written after I lost my Mum in 2009. Sharliya is about my Daughter and songs like Youngaleena sing about Being on Country and Family. Blue Water Horizon was written about a mate I grew up with inn Broome. All things that are close to a mans heart. I hope you enjoy and take away something from listening to this album.
